It helped me if it wasn't too rushed.

I actually liked doing the movies but sometimes I would have liked to have more time to plan and think about what to do in the movie. So I would have liked to do less movies but to have more time for them.

#3 What is the most beneficial part of filming?
That you learn about history by beeing creative and doing something fun.

#4 What is the most difficult task about filming?
If you don't know what you want to do your video is not gonna be good. When I/m tired I'm not creativ. Adn you have to have at least a few good ideas to make it interesting (-> and get a good grade...)


#5 If there was one thing you would change what would it be and why?
I would have given us more time

I don't really think so. I'm sorry but I didn't like the blogging part at all. I just did it because we have to so I'm not sure if it helped me.

yes, I learned how to use the windows movie maker.

#10 Did you enjoy working in groups? explain
I think theres always an advantage and a disadvantage of working in groups. More people means more ideas and you just cant do a movie on your own. But very often it also slows you down because you have to discuss every little thing istead of just doing it. And aometimes I feel like I could work faster and more effetive on my own because than its only you and you just have to do and you cant let the others do everything and do nothing (not that I have done this)

making films is definitly more fun than just studying in class.

Lisa was our leader this week and she did a good job.

The most difficult part of filming is to explain to others your idea without directing them too much, so that they still ome up with therir own ideas.

The easiest part is when you have decided and planned everything you want to film and you just have to tape it.

I think lisa always did a good job when she was our group leader. But Courtlyn and I did good as well.
The best group leader, hard to say because its hard to compare yourself with others and Lisa and Courtlyn do everything really simular.

i liked doing a music video better because it's more fun to film to a song and easier because it doesnt have to make that much sense and if you don't know what to do you can just walk around and oretend to sing :)

Also Lisa did a very good job singing!

For doing the video I first looked at the topic in the book and thaught about important facts we had to include in our video. I also stated writing some parts we could have used as lyrice.
At the same time Courtlyn and Lisa tried to chose a song :) and finally found one.

The next day they wrote the lyrics and on wednesday we recorded the sound track.
On Thursday we did our filming part. We had a few stupid and weired ideas that didn't make it into the music video... And now on the weekend Lisa and Courtlyn are going to edit the video.

Yes, I learned a lot better by doing the writing assignement. I dont know though if its better than doing a movie. I liked that I had (actually) enough time to do do it good.

My question (I was just wondering - it's not important) Could the soldiers who faught in thouse wars decide if they wanted to go to America (or better be in the war in Europe) or not?

For our movie I would rather chose the genre.....

I found it intresting that a war far away in another continent about forts and uncivilized area could become a morld war, beacause historical events like world wars change alot and if they wouldnt have been there our present day world would probably look very different now.

I am going to do the blog....

-> I just learned how you (we) celebrate thanksgiving today..... I don't know what they did in the 18th century.... But they probably had a special dinner too, different from the usual meals they usually had; no work that day, probably church since the origin is to thank god....
But I'm sure a holiday or dinner like that ment more to them back then, because it was really special.

Yes, the last movie we made helped me a lot with the last test (with my essay). I didn't study for the test but still remembered a lot. (because to do the movie I really had to understand everything.

I do like the idea of an music video... but do you want us to ....sing?? or do we get songs or..?

I found the chapter with the explores most intereting.

I'm not sure which movies you are asking about... (out of all?)

Film making has become easier because now we know how everything works and how much time everything takes.

I understood the part we had to do our video about better than if we had just read it in school.

I was the leader of my group this week, and I hope I did a good job :-) But I was definitely active.

I really don't care who our leader for the last week is. We work about the same every time. It doesn't depend on who the leader is. Besides we are only a group of three.

I don't know what to do different.... it depends on the topic... (I need to know what it's about to get good ideas.

The test..... the first part was easy. I didnt really need the word bang. I was just confused because i hadn't realized that you had to use South Carolina twice.....
The map was hard... please be nice :) ...

early colony in New England: Conneticut, established in 1636 by Thomas Hooker who wanted the governement to become more repesentative for the everybody and so he founded his "own" colonie.
I can't imagine living like they did atthis time. But they just had no choice. Life seems much more comfortable today....
I'm not sure if I'm excited for filming or not.... It's fun but also stressful.....

I think the role of women in that time is intresting....

It just sounds good. And churches have the same problem today; that fewer peole come to church or just don't belive in god anymore.

I liked the power point but i dont like grading things. I think you had better powerpoints before. I liked the one when we talked about Magellan, even without of the movie. So about this one... maybe 3..... I don't like grading this because i cant say that i could do it better.

I actually dont want to join the explores. they are not living the life i appreciate.... It was cold in the winter you didn't have anything to eat. No one they knew there!!! No houses and so on...... But if I had to I would have went I would have went with Peter Minuit. Just because he bought Manhattan, what now is the heart of NewYorkCity and thats kind of cool:)

Our group didn't change.

I like the movies during the lecture, they are funny. But you just understand them if you read or talked about it before.

I remeber St. Augustine (the oldest city) and looked it up already :)(during 4B)

I liked our subject but we didnt watch all the other films yet, so I dont know wheater i would have chosen another topic.

For our movie I would say.... 9 points......

I don't know if this is already the fourth week to post our blogs.... (on monday there were only blog prompts for three weeks)
But I don't wanna risk to get a zero and I don't think that there's a problem if we do our blogs too early?

This week it was hard for me too catch up. I missed school one day, I've been out of class for a meeting one day and I had to retake the test the next day. So in the beginning I didn't really have the chance to work with Lisa and Cortlyn. When I was done with all the other stuff we started filming immediately... And I didn't really know about what.
Finally, the next day, I had read everything, I knew what we where doing but I realized that we had to do more then we had planned til then. So we started over with a new project. I think it worked out much better.
If we had had more time I would have sat all our speed dating couples at a long table in the cafeteria, With a bell to change partners. I would have made up more questions which fit to the explores and I actually wanted to find out the explorers' real age today, and let them say that.

I dind't feel that we had enough time, but that was because I had all theese other things to do, so it's just my problem. Unfortunally I missed the whole planning parrt of the video. I think if I would have been there we had had enough time. I actually started planning when we already started filming.

I'm sorry. I realized some of theese sentences sound a little weird. I guess they are just wrong.... I hope it's not too confusing.

I think our group leader was Lisa.... I'm not sure. We just worked well as a group together and I didn't worry who was supposed to "lead" us. But she took the camera.... so I think it was her.....
She did a good job.

I do look forward to make an historical movie, because it's gonna be fun and we can learn something while we are doing it.
I hope our video is going to be good (and not only boring)......

If I could add someone to our group........ It should be someone creative, with good ideas. Maybe Randy, it seems like he really enjoys this movie-making(-learning).

This seems to be very stressful for miss grandick. but it's fun for us.

we wanted to film us while doing our sports an itroduce our selfs. But.... the last day (yesterday...) all the videos we taped got deleted :( :( That made us all very sad...
But we got over it and made a new one in 35minuits. We hurried and i forget a few things to say :( It could have been better.
But i really enjoy working with Lisa and Courtlyn. I like my group and i think we just have to get used to the camera (how it works)

Long Island (our group name) is the island in New York. Close to Manhatten. I know a german exchange student who is over there for 10 months :)

But in general, I can say that I really like it.
It's not as hard or boring as I know history lessons from Germany.
And I'm courious wherter the stuff with the videos works out......

My first impressions..... I like it. All the names of the diffrent indian groups were a little confusing. But it's great to learn how it really was at this time, not what we thought when we played indians as little children or watched winnetou. my class is I wonder who would take history if we didn't have to. I would. Actually I'm more intrested in the time from the 19th centry til today....
